What Fonts to Choose?
Choosing fonts is not a easy task. Even a designer has a preferred font in mind, he/she might as well need to try a couple of similar ones and compare. For me, I always hope to have a quick overview of what are my possible choices and how they look different as a first sifting. So, I made some "fontcards" in a weekend just for my future design quick reference. Also, it's fun to learn a lot history about typography.
The fonts are categorized into three stacks: Serif, Sans-serif and Monospaced. One card only presents one weight (Regular/Roman) of a single typeface. The front of the cards introduces history of the typeface while the back of the cards shows the designer(s) for the typeface.
